About
Rachel Cheney is a medical nurse with over 20 years of diversified experience.
She became concerned about her weight when she could not lose the 55 extra pounds after delivery. She thought she would slim down naturally, without making any efforts. After all, she had been able to eat whatever she pleased before the pregnancy without ever gained an ounce. Well, she soon realized she was packing on more and more.
After returning to work, she suffered from frequent, unflattering remarks from her co-workers and clients. Her self-esteem and confidence became seriously affected.
In addition, she suffered from high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, palpitations and sleep apnea. She was borderline diabetic, had to take 7 pills a day and had to sleep with a mask on. She began to be very depressed.
So she definitely knows how you may feel!
Her motivation to change came when a beloved cousin of hers died prematurely at the age of 34 from a heart attack. She became determined to regain her health as well as that slim figure she was proud of. From there on, she spent hours gathering as much information as she could on weight loss pills and programs, and in trying to determine which one was most adapted to her needs and expectations.
She spent hundreds of dollars trying different cures. She never reached her goal with these so-called 'miracle pills and programs' since those lost pounds kept creeping back soon afterwards. Rachel decided to make serious life style changes and to include exercising into her daily routine. She consulted with a dietician and replaced “bad” foods with “good” ones, little by little. She enrolled at a fitness center and scrupulously worked out 4 times a week.
It's been a difficult journey, filled with ups and downs, but with encouragements from her husband, friends and family, she reached her goal in 16 months and lost those 70 pounds.
She is very proud of her accomplishments and proud of her looks. She regained her self-esteem and feels better than she has ever felt before.
Rachel says that the greatest benefit is to have learned the value of health and good eating habits. She stopped taking all medication and doesn't require a machine to help her breath at night. She knows that she will always have to be careful in what she eats. She is aware that she will have to exercise on a regular basis to avoid gaining weight. It may not have been easy but it was well worth it!
To help keep her motivation, she began writing weight loss and fitness articles and publishes them on the web. Rachel has become an inspiration for overweight people she met at the gym and contributed in giving them motivational and educational speeches. As an experienced nurse, she gives advice to co-workers and clients on the many benefits of being slim and healthy.
Rachel knows what it takes to lose weight and is intimately familiar with the hard, day to day efforts and motivation required to keep it off.
